Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 May 2026

This page describes what personal data Anvilship collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. We aim to keep this simple and honest. If anything is unclear, email jacopo@anvilship.eu and we will explain in plain language.

Who we are

This site is operated by Anvilship, a sole-proprietorship digital studio based in Switzerland, run by Jacopo Licheri. Contact details are in our Imprint.

What we collect, and why

When you visit the website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) records standard server access logs: IP address, browser type, page visited, and timestamp. This is necessary for security and basic operation. We do not run analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies on this site at this time.

When you email us, we receive your email address and any content you choose to send. We use this only to reply to your inquiry and keep a record of the conversation. We do not add you to any mailing list.

When you message us via WhatsApp, you are using the WhatsApp service operated by Meta Platforms. Their privacy policy applies to that channel. We see your phone number and the messages you send. We use these only to reply to you.

When you buy DrawingOps, the payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. (and Stripe Payments Europe Limited for EU customers). Stripe collects your name, email address, billing address, and payment method details to process the transaction. Anvilship receives only the information needed to deliver your license: your name and email address. We never see your full payment details. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.

When you use the DrawingOps desktop application, the app runs entirely on your local machine. It does not upload your drawings, does not phone home, does not track your usage. The only network requests it makes are when you click the in-app Buy or Feedback buttons — those open your browser to anvilship.eu (or your mail client). Your drawings, custody log, and project data stay on your local disk.

How long we keep your data

Email correspondence is kept for as long as the conversation may reasonably be relevant, typically 2 years from the last exchange, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Customer records (name, email, purchase date) for DrawingOps licenses are kept for 10 years, as required by Swiss commercial law for tax and accounting purposes (Art. 958f Swiss Code of Obligations).

Server access logs are retained by our hosting provider per their standard policy (typically 30 days).

Your rights

If you are in the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are in Switzerland, you have similar rights under the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / nLPD).

You can request:

  • Access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — fix data that is inaccurate
  • Deletion — remove your data, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Restriction — limit how we process your data
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests

To exercise any of these rights, email jacopo@anvilship.eu. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Switzerland: the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). In the EU: your national authority.

Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6)

We process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — to deliver the DrawingOps license you bought
  • Legal obligation — to keep tax and accounting records as required by Swiss law
  • Legitimate interest — to reply to your emails, prevent fraud, and operate the website securely

Third-party services we use

The minimum needed to run the site and the business:

  • Hostinger (Lithuania / EU) — website hosting and email
  • Stripe (Ireland / USA) — payment processing for DrawingOps purchases
  • Google Fonts (USA) — typography on the website. Fonts are served from Google's CDN, which means your browser makes a request to Google when it loads the site. Google may log this request.

We do not currently use analytics, advertising trackers, social media pixels, or session-recording tools.

Cookies

This website does not set its own cookies. Google Fonts may set cookies as part of its CDN operation; if you wish to avoid this, you can disable cookies in your browser, though some site styling may be affected.

Data transfers outside the EEA / Switzerland

Stripe and Google operate from the United States. These transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify customers by email.

This policy was drafted in good faith to describe Anvilship's actual data practices accurately. It is not legal advice. If you have specific compliance requirements that depend on this policy, please confirm with your own legal counsel.
